Sascha Bornkamp (1994) is a music and theater maker working in Belgium and the Netherlands. After completing her Master Drama at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp in 2017, she has performed in Metaman (Orkater/Goldmund), Feelings (RITCS/KVS) and solo performance Echo.
In 2017 Sascha Bornkamp and Leonore Spee founded the musical collective Teletext. After projects Nobuya and Voor de verandering (DEStudio), Spee and Bornkamp started an artistic research at the KCA into the content of diversity in Antwerp’s folk song repertoire: Een Nyeu Liedeken. The musical lecture-performance Ryswyck has already been realized within this two-year project. The concept won the De Troffel incentive prize, with which Teletext will realize an edition of this project in 2021 for Festival Cement in Den Bosch (NL).
As co-founder of TgOdessa, she created the social-artistic project Odessa, a performance with and by 11 Ukrainian young people in Antwerp, and with Misja Nolet she created the intimate audio installation Wachtgeluiden. Bornkamp forms literary performance duo Wang with Juicy Dune IJsselmuiden, under which name she created theater performance +. + played more than 60 times in Belgium and the Netherlands and was reworked into a youth performance in Laika: De tafel van plus. In September 2020, Wang will premiere in Zuidpool with X, a second theater text for adults and youth.
Sascha gives workshops and series of classes for theater, music and creative writing for CvA, MJTS and Muzische Workshops, among others. She coached Bastiaan Vandendriessche at the festival Welcome to our Guesthouse by Theater Rotterdam and the theater performance How To Be (a feminist).
