With her first theater monologue ‘Meer dan (kna)ap’ (More than (s)nap), Elyne Notebaert brings attention to her own physical limitation (Achondroplasia, AP, or being born as a small woman) in a playful, spontaneous, and humorous manner. This performance provides insight into what it’s like to live with AP, holds up a mirror to the audience by confronting them with stereotypes, and fosters connections between people and with oneself.
During her residency at the music theater workshop WALPURGIS, Elyne Notebaert, director Aïcha Cissé, and percussionist Alex H. Smith are exploring the potential of live music in this new developing production.
