In 2017 and 2019 we delved into the book We, the Drowned by Danish writer Carsten Jensen, the source of inspiration for our latest music theater project. From the desire to form a small but very diverse community in the run-up to this performance, we organized two reading groups around this exciting book in 2017 and early 2019.
Every Wednesday morning we travel together a little. We read to each other from the book and discuss about the many subjects of the story. With the book as a guide, we immerse ourselves in the Dutch language.
A social-artistic project for those who would like to learn better Dutch, for those who enjoy socializing and especially for those who are open to learn from each other. Because just as with We, the Drowned, this reading group is a ‘sailing Babel’ – where multilingualism is central.
After each reading session, a bowl of fresh soup is waiting for you.
