an opera about our relationship with waste

The French author Lucie Taïeb has long been fascinated by the subject of waste, first publishing on the topic in 2017 with the article L’ordure alphabétique. Austrian composer and multi-instrumentalist Eva Reiter shares Taïeb’s fascination, finding parallels with her own interest in ‘sonic leftovers,’ lo-fi, and recycled objects and instruments.

As part of Tapijt#1, they are collaborating with four singers from HYOID to explore how to develop a polyglot libretto for a new chamber opera about our relationship with waste.
