Crusader Tancredi doesn’t recognize the Moorish fighter Clorinda, with whom he is in love, and kills her in a duel. In his text, Torquato Tasso introduced a narrator to tell the story of this fight. In the monologue Jerusalem Revisited, Erwin Mortier is looking for the motives of Mr T. -a man of Word and Image- who goes back to the spot where Tancredi and Clorinda fought.
This monologue will be combined with a sung interpretation of Claudio Monteverdi’s masterpiece Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda, and a choreography by Roberto Olivan.
