Leonore Spee became associated with deFENIKS at the end of 2018, when she resided there with the performance How To Be (a feminist). In the house she encountered makers with a common commitment to the social in combination with a great drive to give it artistic form. She hasn’t left since then. Today, deFENIKS hosts a variety of projects by Teletext, the artistic platform that Leonore Spee founded in 2017 with Sascha Bornkamp.
Leonore graduated in 2018 as a master of Drama at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. In that autumn she created the performance How To Be (a feminist) with Misja Nolet, in which the self-image of the progressive white Dutchman is examined.
At the beginning of 2019 she started a two-year artistic research at the KCA with Sascha Bornkamp: Een Nyeu Liedeken – content of diversity in Flemish vocal folk song repertoire. The two conduct substantive research into the representative self-images in Antwerp songs between 1544 and 1944. The experiences are expressed in an artistic way at different locations and with different partners. DeFENIKS supports the project logistics and production. WALPURGIS supervises the projects at a dramaturgical level and specifically supports the project in the Agfa-Gevaert in Mortsel.
As a freelance actress, Leonore works with the Ghent company Ontroerend Goed. She can be seen in the performances “£¥€$” and Are we not drawn onward to a new erA. In 2019 she coached the performance Voyeurs in BXL by Carmien Michels.
